I just put in a 5/6/04 build Rogue Engineering Octane short shifter and UUC tranny mounts. (black ones, no TMEs.)

I overtorqued them at first and got lots of noise, so I loosened them and now I get less... but still too much. I'm looking for ideas. I removed the big weight, has anyone that removed that had a problem with noise? (I haven't found many street cars that have that removed...)

I'm gonna try putting that back in.

Any other ideas? It makes a vibration noise that you can feel between the gears and in 2nd and 3rd and 6th under hard acceleration, but not really in 4th. (weird)

Thanks in advance for any advice. I've called Rogue but they haven't been helpful thus far.

them.. because they are always helpful however there is ALWAYS tranny noise from an SSK as there isnt as much isolation.. Your subject says vibrations yet your message says noise.. Which is it? They are inherently different. SSK's make noise and that noise is transmitted to the cabin.

I'm not saying this one is but there have been quite a few. And it's very common nowadays for all sort of business. Guerrilla marketing in action. The most famous one is the "independent" comparison between different short shifters some time ago at fanatics. I don't know if the website with the test still is online. I think it was taken down immediately when someone found out the intrigue.

Anyway, yah, it makes noise, but I've had Rogue, UUC, Stygar and AC Schnitzer on my E36, none made this much noise.

the shifter makes noise and it makes vibration that you can feel in the shift knob.

Rogue said the same thing...

I've used them on other cars just fine, but I'll give it a shot.

not too wild on having to drill out the tranny brace... hard to put it back to stock should I need warranty work.
