I have to be totally honest here, I hated the styling when it came first came out. But after driving it I love it and I now want a 130i, subtle looks with one hell of a punch.

I noticed that the engine size is the same as the 120d, what is the main difference that gives you 163bhp with the 120d? The 118d puts out 122bhp.

Thanks Bob325 soon to be Bob130 (I wish).

how much over a brand new one you saved, i.e. the depreciation? How many km?

Did it come with the flip-up screen on the dash with the radar parking graphics? Must cost a fortune, but a really, REALLY cool thing my rental 116 came with.

No idea what the dif is with the diesels, but accd. to what i read the real-world performance difference isn't as big as the numbers would suggest.

good luck with it - the looks also grew on me, but still from certain angles... but the drive IS great :)

The car was bought at £17,450 and it is a 54 plate with 4,000 Miles covered. It does have rear PDC but no graphics, it has a 6 speed gearbox though. The 118d is really quick, I definately noticed the acceleration. The wife will be collecting it on Wednesday, she is over the moon with it. It was the obvious choice for her as she had a compact before.

The drive is great, no doubt about that.

yow - its kind of pointless to do a straight £ to € or $ exchange with UK cars, but you probably shouldn't check what 118s are going for in Germany... seach for 118d (

what does a "54" plate mean?

All 1ers have a 6 speed except fot the 116, which does get a bit buzzy on the autobahn over 100mph...

Good luck with it - they're fun cars for the Nürburgring hinthint :)
