I've been thinking lately with BMW adding more technological nonsense to the E90 (new 3 series) has the 1 series now become the car for BMW enthusiasts(sp?) replacing the 3 series of old?

Though only the E36 Compact/ti 3-serie was shorter than 1er. I believe many buyers who are disappointed with the too "upmakret" E90,are buying 1er,though the lack of 2-dr model has really hurt the 1er sales figures.

If they start making sedans and coupes, then yes, the 1 series will be a 3-of-yore clone, minus the yuppie driver image.

If BMW brings a 130i sedan to the U.S. I will buy one.
