I may be wrong but I am pretty sure the XJR, S-Type R, and the AKR share the same engine.

If that is true, why is it that the S-Type R's redline is 6250rpm while the XKR has a redline of 6100rpm and the XJR redlines at a lower 6000rpm?

This has bugged me for some time now. If the engines are the same (they look 100% alike) shouldn't they have the same specifications? Would someone kindly explain to me what I am missing?

I think there are some changes due to the cars being different in character. The s-type's transmission acts differently as well.
