Have been away for quite a while and not able to visit the boards. have a couple of questions for the experts here.

One, what are the largest size 18 inch tires that will not rub on the rear fenders? I went back to 18 inch because of ride quality and I could not keep a set of 19 inch straight here in the Dallas Texas area due to horrible road conditions.

Two,
Are there any turbo kits yet? After the recall and the admission of faulty engine bearings, I presumed someone would move forward with a twin tubo 600+ hp set up. The superchargers I have read about seem to offer no real big increase. Their numbers seem to suggest it, but with all [Oops!] aside, and a straight drag race quarter mile, the supercharger systems I have seem barley make a difference in the E.T.'s
Thanks in advance.

It's trivial to put 245f, 275r rubber on the stock rims.

It is just possible to go 265f/285r with the right size rims and offsets on stock alignment and ride height.

With some additional camber, I believe there are folks going 275f and 275r which has the charm of being able to rotate your tires.

There are a couple of vendors offering supercharger kits for the M3 - Dinan has one that carries a warranty and runs somewhere in the 440 hp ballpark. The rod bearing troubles have made plenty of us cautious on mods, but honestly the engine is strong as long as it has clean, correct spec bearings put in by BMW.

The M3 is not really an ideal drag racing tool - there are other cars which are vastly easier to make fast in a straight line.

But NOT an S54 motor!

Active Autowerke E46 M3 supercharger is pretty well regarded. 440 - 600 hp. As StoneWalk says, there are better vehicles to modify for drags.

Thank you for the reply. The web site you directed to only list's two packages, one at 440hp and one at 499. Is there another one that has 600hp as you mentioned?
What about the ess kit? Read an article soemwhere that favored their kit over all others and cannot locate it now, but I seem to remember it also had poor results for such a large outlay of cash.

Site for the horsepower freaks you mentioned here? I found one on google, but they have no mention of any kits, just stand alone turbos.
Thanks again!
