My trip counter has lost it's memory. Can someone help direct me with this problem. Every so often my trip counter will reset itself. I just want to know if it could be the ni-cad's or a possible fuse? Thanks for the advice!

I have the same problems with my 90 740! I'd like to hear what the solution is.

If memory serves me right for the early E-32s this was caused by either a bad coding plug or bad mother board. I'll have to look up the table of instument cluster faults at work to tell you guys which one it is. Haven't heard anybody complain about this in almost 8yrs. Kind of nice to know things aren't always so high tech like the new cars with all their software conflicts. With this problem all you have to do is replace the offending part, not download some special unobtainable software CD from the Factory.

Okay, my '88 735i does this too! What's the secret?
