I dont see why it would not have one. The e46's do, so it would make sense that BMW would simply use the same running gear. The fix is simple.

I have seen other folks talk about disabling the CDV, but I don't fully understand why people don't like it. I'd assume BMW wouldn't spend the money on it if it were a bad thing (when doing nothing would cost them nothing otherwise).

The CDV is there to prevent driveline shock when you engage the clutch rapidly. It's CHEAPER for BMW to implement a device like the CDV than to replace transmission due to premature failure.
