Is there any update on the key programming for our new Coupes. My wife has been waiting patiently since June 6th when she took delivery of her Z4 Coupe. It is annoying when you want daytime running lights, auto-lock un-lock, seat programming etc.....

Just hoping someone has an update.

Thanks,

Richard

I asked about this at Homecoming, and they said the new software should be at all dealerships now since they have it at the performance center and they're the last to get it usually.

So, when I got home I went straight to my dealer and they turned on the DRL and made the other changes I'd been waiting for (no charge).

Call or visit your dealer service advisor on a quiet day, they should be able to help.

MIke,

Thank you for your reply and I have had my key/car programed. One question for you. I had DRL turned on and went right back after I looked at them. It appears that only the Angel Eyes are on and not the inside lights themselves. Is that the way it is on your car? Very dim to me. My 745Li innermost lights are on and very visible in the refelction of the cars in fron of me at a stand still. Please share how yours were programmed.

Thanks,

Roland

This is correct. On the Z4M, the inner light bulb is a fake - only the angel eyes are functional.

I was told that by the specialist who delivered my car to me at the mock performance center delivery in Spartanburg, and its the way my DRLs work too. Fairly hard to notice, just the "angel eyes" lit on the inside lights, and the rest of the light is just for show (non-functional) on cars with xenon lights (might be different on the others).

For me the DRLs are on because I get an additional insurance discount for it. I'm not convinced that they provide a benefit in real world driving, but if they make the car more visible to oncoming traffic, they also make it more visible to the local constable, which is somewhat contrary to my interests!

Just had the lights on my 2007 Z4 coupe programmed and I only get the Angel Eyes as well. In bright sunlight they are NO help at all. Wonder why they didn't make them functional like on the other cars (my 2003 325Ci for example)
