Does anybody have any info on the manufacturer of the updated nav DVD that is out? The old was Navtech but checked their website and it looks like they don't manufacture for Jag any longer. Has anybody purchased? Is the interface different? Thx.

While at my local dealership last week seeking an updated nav DVD for my '04 XJR, the service advisor told me that the currently available version does not offer many updates from mine, and, at $400, not a good value. He suggested waiting until next March, when they expecting a new refreshed and robustly updated version.

Might be worth the wait...

Just purchased the NAVTEQ update for $199. Their web site shows the DVD is out of stock, but by calling their Customer Service, I was able to place an order - and got the DVD in 5 days.

I also purchased the 2006-2007 update from NAVTEQ and installed it in my 2004 VDP. Works good...runs like a scalded dog!

I saw a post about a 2006-7 Navteq DVD that indicated it would also update the firmware in the nav system (my Jaguar is an 04 XJ8). I ordered one from Navteq and the maps are clearly a much newer version. But, no firmware update when i first load the new dvd. Do you have to do anything special for the updated firmware? Help, please.

Are you saying that by putting the new DVD in your 2004, it somehow made the core Nav system run faster?? That sounds a bit fishy. The DVD is just software. The firmware is embedded in the Jag itself, as far as I understand...

So, if I understand this, you got the DVD for the 07 XJ8?
Or is there an updated version of the 04 XJ8 disc?

Are they one in the same?
