So my love for my 02 M3 has started to fade... Its a cab, and the creaking has gotten out of control... I think the diff has started to make noise again (already on the 2nd one) and I'm pretty sure I'll be looking at new brakes and dampers soon...

So of course the logical next step is to buy a new car!

My heart loves the Mcoupe, but all the reviews like the Cayman S better. The car will be a daily driver with 3-4 track events a year. I test drove a coupe yesterday and it does feel a little cramped compared to the Cayman (which I have only sat in) but the S54 is just so right.

My plans for the Coupe, if I get it, are to slap a set of TC Klien DAs on it and throw the Contis down to the bottom of some ravine where they belong.

Obviously I'm preaching to the choir here but thoughts on MCoupe vs Cayman...

You've gotta drive them both to see which one suits you. Performance is too close for mortals to see the difference...a matter of taste then. Sort of depends what your touchstone for a sports car is. Frankly, I've read the reviews too, MC generally comes out 2nd. But, the MC is tougher to hop into and start driving quickly, takes some settling in time. Cayman is a little more user friendly and I think it's materials are a touch better. And they're miles apart in character. Cayman is typical new Porsche; finely wrought, very competent but sterile to me. MC is anything but...more visceral, not as "pretty", but more of a real sports car. My buddy loves his Cayman, I dig my Coupe.

the more I think, it's too feminine looking.
Seems you have to add alot of body add-ons ($) to make it less so.

The MC just looks retro & yet modern @ the same time. It plays the Sportscar part well.

Performance wise, Porsche is refine, MC is raw.

1 drives you, the other allows you to drive it.

The cayman just "looks like a porsche"...not bad, but not special. The M Coupe stands out. Depends on which you are looking to achieve. Performance-wise, they are so close it isn't a differentiator (especially if you dump the contis on the M). I went with the M coupe.
