I'm looking to trade an 87 6 series for a 5 because I need 4 doors now (kids). Whats the difference between an E12, E28, E34 & E39? Thanks.

Thanks.
The E12 is the first five series--1977-81; E28 is 1982-88; E34 is 1989-96; and E39 is 1997 (I guess). You should find yourself a 5-series wagon--there was one on ebay recently. Good luck--my two kids love my E12--lots of room.
Good luck,
DScott
1977, 530i (and a really ugly Pontiac station wagon!)
