I want to travel (light) cross Cda (10,000 miles) with my family of five, ages (kids anyway) 5 - 15 in the 86 735i. We want to camp but keep off the ground. I'm thinking of pulling a tent trailer; looking at one 1650 lbs but have seen some tent only "soft tops". I've also been thinking and looking at a motorcycle tent trailers.
Any advice....don't be a smart alec! tanks Dav

1650lbs. I think is heavy for those kind of miles with an automatic but a 5-speed with a good clutch and cooling system shouldn't be a problem. (or at least I would do it) The 7 is definitely a substantial car with big brakes and a solid motor. In your favor is, I wouldn't think Canada would be that hot, unlike when I take a week or two every summer in the desert and Las Vegas, but without trailer.
Mike W.
