I know that for the R107 model, no manual transmission cars were officially imported in USA. How about the R113? I'm allergic to automatic transmissions but I still want to find a good R107 or R113.

Any advice where to look for one and what to look out for is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Emil

yes = stick (4-speed only) was available in USA
during all of the 230, 250, 280SL life cycle.

5-Speed was option - but never deliverd on USA cars,
and you'll see in some classified ads
very expensive restored 113 SL's with this rare 5-SP option fitted.

many more 230, 250SL's had stick than the last 28oSL's
The 280SL was a country club, 65+ year olds car fitted
usually with air conditioning, and Automatic.

by the way , while shopping, all USA SL's included the Hard Top.
No USA SL should be without it today.

not exactly related - but for your information (price chart)

happy hunting

Hello all,

I found a '76 or '79 w123 240D with a manual trans. Do you know if this will fit correctly into a '70 4spd 280sl that I can convert to a 5spd?

Thanks and cheers,
John
