I'm sure it's something I'm doing incorrectly but I just posted a reply on the E39 forum and realized I had a typo I wanted to Edit and correct. When I clicked on the Edit Post button it brings up the text edit box but it's empty; the post I want to edit is nowhere to be found. Am I missing something??

We've heard about this from JimLev. We haven't been able to reproduce it. It's some sort of javascript issue but we don't know whether it's due to Internet Explorer of Firefox or virus software. I know that's not much help but until we can reproduce the error here we can't fix it.

Charlie,

I notice that on the Test Forum, I can edit my posts to my heart's content. However, on the E39 forum where it counts, I am unable to edit my posts. Why do you suppose that it..!!

Well, on this post I can edit my arse off but on the E39 forum, no such luck.

So were you trying to edit an older post? Once a post gets to be a couple of weeks old it's no longer editable.

How about one that's 28 hours old. I was trying to edit a post on the M Lounge to a post from M3lissa regarding a recommendation for a Santoku knife. The Edit option does not even exist for me and I'm signed in and all that other stuff.

I was trying to edit a post I made 28 hours ago on the M Lounge. It was a reply to a post my M3Lissa regarding a recommendation for a Santoku knife for her father. The Edit option does not exist for me on that forum and I'm logged in as Filehorse.

And that's another thing . . . How do you know which Reply button to hit? Sometimes I want to reply to the original post and sometimes I want to reply to a later post in the thread. I have no idea which one is which. This is some more of that non-intuitive issue.

Charlie,

Don't know what you did but I can now edit my posts on the E39 forum. Even if you didn't fix it, I'm still giving you credit for it. Thanks much.

I did make some editing changes yesterday. Hopefully the problem has corrected itself.
