rumor has it that the crank from a 3.0 liter M3 will fit into the M20 block, stroking it from 2.5l to 2.9l. can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

: rumor has it that the crank from a 3.0 liter M3 will fit into the M20 block, stroking it from 2.5l to 2.9l. can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

A local engine builder (BSE) spoke to me about using the M50 crank which is the 2.5L crank. He also said that the engine could NOT really rev over 6k rpm because of the connecting rods, etc. It was only for mild street use.
