?????? I think poor driving habits will attract the police, not a license plate!
:
: Have you encountered any problems with personalised licence plates? Does it attract cops?
: Thanks.

Maryland charges $25 per year for the personalized tags so I have four. Other states charge much higher fees and therefore lose revenue that they could get if the fees were lower.
They are easier to remember so people know more easily that it's your car. This can be a plus or minus depending on many factors.
Fred Meloan
89 525iA Maryland tag "SKM"
97 540iA Maryland tag "FDM"
97 Z3 Maryland tag "Z3"
89 Volvo Maryland tag "X5"

:
: Have you encountered any problems with personalised licence plates? Does it attract cops?
: Thanks.

I used to have a 91 Eagle Talon and had Vanity plates that said "BCHN EGL" ie (Bitchin Eagle, I'm from California).
One time on a stop and go traffic on an LA Freeway, a guy in a Camaro pulls up next to me asks How I got the DMV to allow me to use such language? He wanted to use BCHN for "Bitchin Camaro" I guess.. a line from a punk song back in the eighties...but the DMV said no because of the language....
just a thought.
arnold

But I thought having a 007 plate definitely qualified me as a "bad" driver in eyes of my local cops ! Oh well, maybe when the new Bond movie uses an E46 M3, I will trade up to that and get that plate then. Come on James, a new M3 is so much better than that crappy 1.9 Z3 you had before! Although, that 750iL was not too shabby in Goldeneye. Not bad at all. Nice remote controller too!
Alex
