Does anyone know what the normal engine operating temperature for the M3 is? Mine is at 210 degrees.

Sounds about right. Mine is usually a tick or two lower than the 210 degree mark. Have you flushed your radiator recently?

For comparison's sake: My oil temp never approaches the 210 mark unless I'm really pushing it. Coolant temp is solid at the middle mark and goes up slightly when sitting in traffic.

I flushed the radiator about three months ago...I also recently had the engine rebuilt. From what I remember the temp. was lower than 210 before I had it rebuilt.

Mine is always a little below 210. One time it went over but that was when it was on the track and I was beating the piss out of it. Does anyone know the minimum oil temp where it is safe to go above 4k rpm? I always say its safe when its just about to hit the second hash mark between 120 and 210
Kevin
89///M3

What BMW Motorsport expects as normal oil temperatures is listed in the Owner's Manual Supplement for our cars. I do not have it here at work but have it at home and can look it up tonight.
