Last night when I opened the trunk on my M3, the "L" shaped latch fell from it's mounting position on the inside of the lid/boot. There was a small clip (broken) lying on the carpeting. I guess that thing takes a beating. Anybody have to replace these parts. Any P/Ns?? TIA!

the little c clip holds the adjustable latch in place. mine has been broken and causes much agita as the trunk lid loosens higher, but still latches and then the trunk light stays on and drains the battery. THis has happened to me twice and just this past weekend, I was w/o tools and no battery, took it to a shop and they told me the alternator was dead. replaced alternator myself (but it seemed to charge) and then checked the trunk lights for s and g and it stayed on. so yes, the clip breaks, but haven't replaced it yet.

<i>It was $20 but I decided to just buy the thing locally and have it over and done with quickly. <br>I'm sure you can find a bargain through mailorder.<p>Sorry about the size - I have a dual flat panel setup and the ETK won't snap to one monitor for a screenshot. I did shrink it 67% though.....<p><img src="http://www.bayareamotorsport.com/stuff/catch.jpg"><p>Brandon Wheaton<br>1989 E30 M3<p><br>Last night when I opened the trunk on my M3, the "L" shaped latch fell from it's mounting position on the inside of the lid/boot. or any other image editor and then save it. You can also edit, resize, etc. Easy peasy.<p>(*Print Scrn is usually to the right of the F12 key at the top of most keyboards.) <p>Also, you might try looking next to the "Any Key" ;^)<p>~B<p><p><br><i><br> Did you print it ,scan it and then post it?<br> <p>AdrianM///<p></i><br>
