role cage cause of the additional stress on the rear shock mount area of the car. If you notice now the rear springs are resting in a different area. Plus if you notice on that setup the height is adjusted on the top half of the coilover verse all the ohters I have seen where the adjust at the bottem. Kinda kewl if you think about it. also I remember reading somewhere about the coils being a different thickness through the spring, sounds expensive!!!!
Adam

I saw a kit at Ireland Engineering a while back. It looked like some more sheet metal that you have to weld in. I believe they said it was for coilovers.
-Jon

role cage cause of the additional stress on the rear shock mount area of the car. This will be a full-race type of setup, I have it on my 325 w/m3 suspension. The shocks I have are threaded-body Bilsteins with spherical bearings for mounts. Any manufacturer that makes race shocks will probably have an application. It was necessary to modify the shock towers to add more room for the springs (my springs are at the top) and then reinforce them.
Be aware that the installation ratio changes dramatically with this setup, I run 550 lb/in springs up front and 350 lb/in at the rear (yes, rear rate lower than front).
On the east coast I recommend Bimmerworld, they do excellent work.
Chris Hutchins

where can you get rear coilovers like those on the Gr A racer? Will 5 or 7 series rear coils fit?
