I have a 1991 model 535i and I am attempting to remove the fuel injector wiring harness. Bentley's says to remove the two allen head bolts that retain the plastic tray harness onto the injectors and "pull off".
I have attempted to pull off the plastic tray mounted connectors without success. Each fuel injector connector is one of the wire retained type of connector. I have always needed to spread the spring wire before lifting up the electrical connector. I have never considered this snap on and snap off connectors. Yet there is no cleanance available to get to the wire to spread it over the latching ears.
Any ideas as to how to get this wiring harness tray off of the fuel injectors? I have the M30 engine.
Thanks.

The connectors may pull off if you can lubricate the wire clips by squirting a bit of silicone spray at each side where the wire grabs the injector tabs. Wiggle side to side and it should snap off.

: I have a 1991 model 535i and I am attempting to remove the fuel injector wiring harness.
