The fuel filler cap on my car recommends premium grade unleaded petrol 95 octane. I can get ordinary unleaded 95 Octane. Do I really need super unleaded which is 98 octane. Any expert comments will be appreciated. My car has M42 16 valve twin cam 1.8 engine. It is an E 36 coupe 1994. Thanks
Our (U.S.) super unleaded sounds like it has less octane than you regular, I don't think you need to go with 98 octane and your engine sure wouldn't benefit in any power sense. You might want to check into detergent differences but beyond that you can probably go with the 95 octane...
Where are you with 98 octane at the pump?
Regards,
Preston

Super unleaded fuel has less sulfer content and more fuel injector cleaners in it than regular unleaded fuel does. For these reasons only it worth the extra $$$ in the USA at-least.
Steve
'98 E36
: The fuel filler cap on my car recommends premium grade unleaded petrol 95 octane. Now in the US, we don't have that nice of an advantage with 100 octane gas... I wish one day the US market will call for that kind of gas.
