I have a 4 mo old M3 which I'm loving....The question is, when the E46 finally gets here, do I trade in my beloved but barely used E36 for the E46, or do I keep the E36 and get a Dinan/BMW dealer to install the Dinan SC.
Dinan SC will get me to 60 mph in about 4.7 sec and quarter mile in low 13s. E46 will probably be close, but a few ticks slower....But speed is only one factor in the fun equation....
The SC option would cost me under $10K..the E46 option would cost me about double that.
Tough choice.

do you believe everything you read?

Scared the **** out of me and I loved every minute of it. Defintely faster than a stock M3. Didn't have as much low end torque as a turbo M3, but pulled like you wouldn't believe at higher rpm.
Suzy

The test which was done was the Car and DRiver test. However they did NOT test the SC car, but rather one with a performance software upgrade only! A while back the Dinan Supercharged cars WERE tested, and they showed 0-60 times around 4.7 and low 13s quarter mile. No dinan supercharged car ever tested in the magazines did SLOWER than stock.....You are mixing up your tests.

There were three cars tested including the supercharged M3. One had the S1 package, another had the S1 plus cams, throttle body, mass air (I think), and the other had the S3 which was the supercharged M. Compared to stock, the first was slower in nearly everthing. The second was slightly faster in most comparisons. The supercharged was much faster, but ends up being atleast 10k for installation and all. To answer your question Paul, I think you should wait for the M3 no doubt about it. I already had trouble with my mass air sensor by putting a Dinan chip and intake in my 328i.
Hope this helps
Mo T.
