How do you quickly identify an 2001 M3 vs. a 2001 M5? I would a front and side comparison of both just to validate something I recently saw behind a fence. :)

I saw a 2001 M3 with the distinct side gill vents behind a fence at a BMW Training Center.
I'll try to get some spy photos ASAP...Need to first get the rent a cops off my back at the adjoining company.

Did you see this at BMW NA? If so, I'm going up there. Also, you can tell the two cars apart from the back by looking at the muffler tips. M5 has them toward the outside of the car while the M3's are more centered.
How do you quickly identify an 2001 M3 vs. a 2001 M5?
