2 hours after taking ownership of my 95 M3, I was pelted by what sounded like sniper fire on southbound 101. Looks like I caught some gravel, and now have a small (1mm across) pit in my windshield (passenger side). There was some pulverized glass fragments in it which I swept out, and the resulting crater is deep enough to be finger noticable, I could probably draw blood if I pressed and rubbed hard enough. I'm guessing it's about 1mm deep as well.
Suggested fixes/shops (SF Bay Area)?
How sturdy is the factory windshield? Mine looked nearly perfect after 39K, though I hear German (OK Audi) glass is notoriously thin...
Thx
Kevin
It probably won't make you feel better but the same thing happened to me 6 weeks after getting my '99 M3. I had it repaired, which looked pretty good at first (though still visible) but a week later it got worse/more visible. It's still better than it was originally though.
-Sean
'99 Estoril Blue M3
: 2 hours after taking ownership of my 95 M3, I was pelted by what sounded like sniper fire on southbound 101.
