Has any body removed their Z3 emblem form the car?
Is it bolted on or just glued?
How do I take it off?

It is on with double-sided foam tape. I took mine off with a standard screw driver by carefully prying up on all corners of each emblem, being careful to stop before the emblem touched the paint. Then waxed the leftover adhesive off.
Do the visor warnngs next.

: Has any body removed their Z3 emblem form the car?
: Is it bolted on or just glued?
: How do I take it off?

OK, gotta ask again. It's nice you know how to remove it, but why? There was a discussion here a while ago about it, I'm just curious about why you would not want that nice hunk of chrome on the rear flank? I like it and would like to find a nice chrome "2.8" for the other side (someone suggested ordering one from Audi!).
Just curious

Well, because I don't like emblems, and it's easier to wax. This may sound crazy, but this is coming from a guy that has never had front and rear plates on my 97 Z3 and 92 525.
: OK, gotta ask again. It's nice you know how to remove it, but why? Try running a fishing line (wire? string? not sure about the terminology here) all the way between the badge and the bodywork. No danger of scratching and should work (does on Peugeots, haven't tried on Bimmers)
Espen

I took the emblems off by using a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive (hold 10-12 inches away) for about 5 minutes. At this point, the emblem can easily be twisted off with the backing intact, which is great should you choose to reattach it later.
-Darren

: Has any body removed their Z3 emblem form the car?
: Is it bolted on or just glued?
: How do I take it off?

I have used the light heat and pull off and away method followed by some 3M adhesive remover on several cars.
As to the question Why? - I just think the cars looked a lot cleaner without the Z3 or 740i logo.
I first did this on a SAABTurbo convertable, with the intent to make it look cleaner like the SPG version. My refrigerator now has "16 valve", "turbo", and "Z3" on the door. (the 740i got bent in the removal process)
I have not and do not plan to (since they are in a recess in the sheet metal among other reasons) remove the //M badges from the new Roadster.
:
: : Has any body removed their Z3 emblem form the car?
: : Is it bolted on or just glued?
: : How do I take it off?
