Does anybody know how many '99 M-Coupes were produced for the USA?
Also, how can I tell the production number of mine? I checked the archives and found an algorithm - but it must be unique to roadsters. It says to find LCnnnnn in the VIN and subtract a fixed number (85,000), but my VIN is LC60716.
tanks,
-s

For example,
Name: Scott N.
Email: (whatever you fill in)
Subject: LC60716, 99 M coupe, 02/99 delivery
(not that I know when your car was delivered, but you do).
If the 2.8 and M coupe owners post like this, it can give us an idea of when the production numbers started along with how many were produced.

--Alan

Scott:
I am not sure anyone outside BMW can tell you how many coupes have been produced but as of the end of February, 1999 BMW sold 408 2.8 coupes and 779 M coupes in the U.S. I am guessing that another 70 plus 2.8's and another 50 plus M's will be sold in March.
Hope this helps.
Fred Meloan

He said aprroximately 800, or 900, I can't recall which. I picked mine up this past Saturday...what a blast! I'll be returning frequently to this board.
Jim
: Fred Meloan

(1) According to the October 1998 edition of "Automobile Magazine", 850 M Coupe and 600 Z3 Coupe 2.8l will be built in 1999...
(2) Where are you getting the production code from? I checked my VIN and it has numbers no where close to the ones described on here...
---------------
: Does anybody know how many '99 M-Coupes were produced for the USA?
: Also, how can I tell the production number of mine?
