: anyone ever paint their hatch spoiler from black to blue, or their door handles to match?

I did this on a previous car I owned and it held up quite well for the 10 years I had it >after< the paint work. But I'm lucky that my brother is the production manager for a great body shop...
Any decent shop should know how to prep the pieces so the paint will stick. The problem is that to do this right, you have to remove the pieces from the car, particularly the door handles. That will probably set you back a good bit since the entire door will likely have to be disassembled to remove the handles.
Just don't be shocked if they tell you it'll cost $500+.
Mike

I did the spoiler, exterior handles and the windshield washers nozzles done in body color. I initially went with the chrome exterior handles which looked nice too. I prefer the body color though. If yo udo the handles you'll get a better job if you remove the handle from the main assembly. This is relatively easy to do, but requires drilling and tapping the handle pin to accommodate a 6/32 screw. I was going to engave the handle with M coupe but could never find anyone to do it. The person I sold the chrome ones to is sending me his stock ones as part of the deal. Will try again.
