I just "installed" the Alpine CHA-S634 changer using the Soundgate adapter abmw35V4 in my 2001 e46 and the head unit is not recognizing that a changer exists. I have an in dash CD with HK.

The switch on the changer is set to #2 (m-bus). There are CDs in the changer and it does have power. Everything seems to be right but it's not showing up on the head unit.

btw, I did press the CD button on the head unit twice and several times.

Any ideas on why it's not working?

To make the Alpine unit do MBUS you need to switch the switch +and+ use this cable:

See below for TommyX's install in his X5.
