Does anyone know a *cheap* place to buy a CD Changer Installation Kit for a 1997 Z3. BMW part number is 82-11-1-469-440. My local dealer wants to charge me $105 which seems a bit high since the kit consists of a steel plate, a few nuts, and a carpeted cover for the CD player. Many thanks in advance.

On a related note, has anyone created their own install kit? Any and all custom tips appreciated.

I installed a Pioneer changer in my wife's 97 Z3 and simply used standard "L" brackets. The threaded posts are already in the trunk and you just need to align the changer accordingly and secure with the proper size nuts/washers. Total cost <$10. It doesn't have the nice carpeted enclosure but that has not been an issue in using the changer.
