My wife and I are proud owners of a new 02 boxster. This
"detailing" Q & A is GREAT. You guys should be reimbursed
by the wax companies, for your reports.

How do you dry your soft top, after you've washed you Boxster,
from getting tons of lint?

Do you use the same wax, that you use on the metal body of
the car, for the front and rear vinyl bumpers?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Thanks for the compliments!

Assuming that your bumpers are painted body color (or some other color), go ahead and wax them as normal. The only time you wouldn't want to wax them is if they were a flat-black or an untreated/textured vinyl/plastic/rubber. If that were the case, you'd want to treat them with the appropriate rubber/vinyl protectant.

Hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions!

Thanks again,
Steve

Here's my take of the soft top: RaggTopp is the <B<best there is for soft top care. This is what I've done with my Z3's black top: cleaned it once with RaggTopp Cleaner, vacuumed it with a wet/dry vacuum and left it in the sun for a couple of hours to let it completely dry. Then applied three coats of RaggTopp Protectant ... letting it dry completely between coats. There was some white residue which vacuumed off easily. Since then the water just beads up and runs off ... the cloth does NOT get wet at all. When I wash the car to dry the top I just lay a large bath towel on the top for a couple of minutes and the top is dry with very little lint ... all of which vacuums off quickly.

YMMV
