Depending on the tuning you can get away with as much compression. I've seen turbo 4 cyl. run at 10:0.1CR and 30+ lbs of boost.

If you are having some cutom tuning done on the dyno, I would run around as much CR as you can for the street. Street and reliability is what I would consider when choosing the CR. Recommendation to run between 8-9.1 CR for daily reliability and decent power.

The CR will not matter, if you have fresh forged aluminum slugs and stronger rods in the block. Fuel, timing is where you will need to beef up in order to run 6-8 street and 10-12 race boost. Good fuel, psi, volume and consistency will let you adjust psi on the fly for max power.
