I am interesed in the 1995-1996 XJR's. I know they have different engines than the current ones. Can anyone tell me what the 0-60 is on one of these earlier XJR's? and/or can anyone comment on this car's performance against today's sport sedans? Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike....

The 95's I believe are faster than the 96's and 97's the same for the V-8 models because of the vacuum setup I think.

95 XJR 0-60 6.6
96-97 XJR 0-60 6.8

98'-99 XJR V-8 0-60 5.2
2000- current 0-60 5.4

The XJR6 is a very strong car..the only problem is it's weight. You can add modifications to the XJR6 to get more power and performace.

98 XJR.

You said "You can add modifications to the XJR6 to get
more power and performace. " Please tell me who is selling the mods...I have yet to find a company or manufacturer dealing with AJ16 mods.

Try Phil...he does mods to the XJR8s but I am sure he could help you with the XJR6s. You can also change the supercharger pulley to create more a smaller pulley. Here is Phil's e-mail.

Thanks...let me know if he can help you.

I have a standard manual 1996 XJR, the 0-60 is 5.8 secs.
Superchips do a kit in the UK to add 20+ bhp or you can change the Supercharger drive for heeps more power.
But the standard car is like a rocket.
