On my 82 733, the check pannel always says there is a tail light out when i turn my lights on. Well i looked at it, checked if the bulbs were diff metal but they are the same. Well i totally gave up on that for a while, but today i was puting a euro rear bumper on and had to take my hitch off and i dicided to take out all the trailer wiring as well.

Well i found out that for whatever reason the right tail light really doesnt work. The bulb does, but someone before me had just wired a wire from the left one, to the right one to make it light. So they both are running off the left one right now.

the problem is there seems to be no power to the right one. I even probed the wire inside the harness over toward the left light, and there is no power.

What would cause this?? any ideas??? whatever it is, im sure thats why they wired it that way, and it also explains the check control, cause technically the right light is not working.

happy new year

I would suspect the resistor in the Rear Light Check Panel, Relay
should be in the trunk area.
