Jeez...it really does seem like the M Coupe board. No wonder why there hasn't been many posts. Just kidding.

Alright, Alan you wanted to know where. Sports and Specialist Cars, in Princeton, NJ. Michael Del Giorno is who I am going to be dealing with. Seems like a nice guy and they only wanted $100 for the #5 spot. Still have no clue as to how Lotus USA and the parent or going to deal with all these Lotus Elise orders.

Boy oh boy, I can't wait now. Only 500+ days left.

Cheers,

Tomo

I've heard numbers anywhere from 1000 to 2000 for the number of cars they expect to bring over in a year. There aren't that many dealerships nationwide, so allocations should be pretty good. I think the lists will move along quickly. So, what color are you thinking about?
Cobalt Blue for sure, cause it will match my Aprilia really well. Since I am pretty sure I will order the race tech package, either Carbon Leather or Blue. However, Red might be a choice, but I am not really sure how well that would mix with exterior. Most likely Carbon Leather. Yet, Gunmetal would be really nice with the red. But then again....ack....too many things to think about. Most likely Cobalt Blue. I think.

You know, when I asked the dealer what the average turnaround time for an order placed he said 10-12 weeks for an Esprit. Its been my impression that those don't sell to well. So they probably have an over capacity to produce those cars and yet it still takes that long. I really hope they keep production numbers in line with capacity so that there won't be any bottlenecks nor quality problems with the Elise.

Oh well....I really hope what my dealer said about the Elise coming over in the Spring for a dealer showcase/test drive is true.

Cheers,

Tomo

for whatever reason lotus usa is short on esprits. they don't get enough of them, that's why the wait. the reason for this is a mystery. i wish i had made money during the dot com fever - i'd just buy lotus outright and run it better. ah well...

There are only 200-something Esprit V8s made in a year. Even if all of them came to the U.S., which obviously they don't, it is still very limited production.
