1980 924 starts first time when cold, but when it,s hot it takes ages to start anybody got any idea's , thanks..........

It depends, really. Is it failing to turn over or is it cranking and not hitting? There's a period on most 924's, after which they will start just fine. If you get in it hot, it'll start. If you get in it cold it'll start. If you get it warm and then come back 1-2 hours later, hehe, bring another battery. I keep a can of engine starting fluid handy for these cases. I drilled a 1'4" hole in the filtered side of the breather and squirt a little starting fluid in it. If you can get it start this way, it'll catch and run on it's own.

BTW There is a repair for this but I've forgotten what it was, am here looking for it )

it cranks ok just will not fire, and this happen from warm to hot, but when it goes it will go all day, this can be embarrasing.
