I am picking up my 330ci - manual trans. sometime next month. What can I do to it to make it quicker off the line and to take the speed limiter off? And how quick can i make it? I probably have a 2k budget to work with in aftermarket.

(p.s. you might want to go to the normal e46 3series forum)

...well okay, they might LOOK like the girls you want. But they are the type of girls that are more impressed by what you drive and where you are taking them to eat than anything that matters.

I prefer to enjoy my wheels and leave the skanks to the guys that don't know better.

Go to a DINAN dealer and get the Cold Air Intake and Stage II Engine software. $1,100 or so installed. It'll give you a good kick in the pants...and take off the speed limiter. I put the package on my E36 and it makes it a different car.

But it does change the character of the throttle response, exhaust note and you will notice a difference even off the line. I keep up 95% with a stock E46 330i. The Dinan version is nice because it actually takes in cold air, not hot under-hood air. Plus the warrantee matches the BMW warrantee 100%. I'm going to do the same for the M3 when it's available.
