Hello-- I have a 78 911 sc. Lately I have encountered a problem that I can't seem to pinpoint. Some times when I turn on the igniton and try to strat, the started does not crank. I have to sit there and play with the key turning it on and off and suddenly it starts. It's not the battery or the starter, I recently changed both. I have been told it could also be a electrical wiring behind the ignition switch. It clearly looks like a electrical problem to me. Once it is started its fine. Any response will be appreciated.

On a '78 that key's been turned an awful lot. The ignition itself has most likely warn out. It's an easy repair to make and not that expensive.
