magazines, my dealership sales rep, and my buddy who drove one last week all say the new M3 is awesome BUT drives softer than the old one. not quite as tight and firm...is this true? C & Driver said it has a "lumpy ride!!!"
i have driven the 330i sport and I agree that one seems very soft compared to my old E36 M3, hardly sporty i thought. i was hoping the M3 would change this ugly 3 series trend, especially if i am to eventually own one...

i gotta tell you ,i have driven my new imola red cab for 700 miles over the last 2 days. There is nothing soft about it.This car pulls like a DEMON,330 & e36,with all due respect, before you can look up,this car will be out of your sight. There is no comparison,i had an e36 which was great and a 330

The new M3 is stiffer. I understand that some might think it is softer because it has over all a smoother ride. But it is not !

Even after market suppliers like Hartge and AC Schnitzer recommend to NOT change the suspension of the M3 because it is (as per Schnitzer) close to perfection and stiff enough. It's true... I had one of the Schnitzer guys on the phone telling me this !

In case somebody want to lower their car, they would only change the springs. Suspension changes are only recommended for a strict track use.

all irregularities, pebbles, and bumps on the road. that is what i was hoping for from the new M3 in additional to all other well documented qualities...

my E46 M3, the more I love it and rougher I find it to be. Take it for ride, especially with the sports button on and you will feel a pure race car!!

I really feel that my E46 M3 is harsher/stiffer than my ex E36 M3.
