Finally collected my car this afternoon (after a wait of only 18 months :-)

It's Carbon Black, black leather + 19" wheels. Initial impression is "Wow" but I'll post more detailed thoughts later on once I've managed to drive more than 5 miles.

the only bright side is now you've got it I move up the waiting list by 1.

Nice wheels :o) I will be getting 19" too.

If you stop for a sec, can you take a snap of each wheel front and back close up, im curious how curbable they are.

Ian, Car looks great and really wish I didn't have to wait another month. Are the tyres Michelin and do they stick out enough to protect the wheel rims?

Yep, though I only ordered in October '00 so am bit down the list.

Did you get titanium trim inside?

Yes, they're Michelins. There does appear to be an anti-kerb strip but it doesn't look very substantial.

Approximately $1,278.

I was #2. (The dealership did not get a demo. car so that was a true #2 in the queue).

My salesman was Philip. Very nice chap and very helpful. Pulled out all the stops to get the car ready in about half a day once it had arrived (late yesterday).

I was number 11, sales person called Ruth. When I popped in while all the mcars were there I checked and I was up to 8. looking Q1 2002 hopefully, lol

Prefer the 18's.

I prefer the deeper dish look of the 18 in rim. If the 19's had this look...I'd get the 19's.

Thumbs up!!!!!!

One thing I don't like are the stock tires that get fitted to some of BMWs wheels. Both on your M3 and my M-Coupe...the stock tires tend to look under-sized. Meaning the edges of the tire tend to curve in towards the car and don't extend out far enough to at least be even with the edge of the rim. IMHO, getting a wider tire is the way to go...certainly its a rather expensive proposition if the car is brand new, but when you get through those...its something to consider. Not to mention MUCH better rim protection.

I went from 225/40(F) and 245/45(R) to 235/40(F) and 265/45(R)...this gave the tires a MUCH better appearance, as well as a fair bit more rubber to the ground.

The above pic is after my new tires.

Anyway...just my 2 cents...enjoy the hell out of that beast!

... between preferring one thing over another and thinking something is crap. Why didn't you just say that in the first place instead of making yourself look rude?

Absolutely respect your second opinion ;-)
