After asking, I found a link to a scan of an article about SMGII that appeared in BMW Car magazine. They quoted 2400 pounds sterling... about $3600. We'll see. Thanks for the reply.

be $2,700 over here. (e) Animboy

I was just in Sweden and, due to the current exchange rate
where the USD is strong and the SEK is weak, everything there
was basically half off for me. Conversely, visitors from New
Zealand were getting reamed everywhere they went because
their currency is one of the weakest around at the moment. This
situation could reverse relatively quickly if the USD got weaker or
the Swedish Krona got stronger. Point being that you can't
always make a direct relationship concerning the price of
something just by using exchange rates. BMW has to price their
vehicles, accessories, and options taking into consideration the
fact that foreign exchange rates can fluctuate rather quickly. If
they were to price their products based on the current rates, as
soon as the USD weakened or the DM strengthened, BMW AG
would start losing money. I think that they'll price it higher than
the said $2,700 in order to account for the above possability. Just
a thought...

Hello Kevin,

All I say is, that SMG II is much cheaper in Germany and Switzerland than in the UK.

As the M3 is already cheaper in the US than in Germany and Switzerland, I don't see a good reason why SMG II should cost more in the USA than $2700-$2800.

However, I agree that the US$ might weaken vs. Euro and CHF. Nonetheless, I think SMG II will not cost more than $2800 in the US.

Just my opinion - we will see ;-)

Cheers
A.
