I just don't get it. Why can't BMW build this car like the S4??? I'm
getting sick and tired of trying to keep the car under 100 mph. It's
getting annoying. I try to drive at the speed limit, and pretty soon
I'm hitting 100 again. If I had just gone with the S4, I would be
driving much slower.

<Yes, this is a joke. This is the smoothest, fastest car I've
driven>

Napoleon,we would be bigger if we wanted to modify our cars.Stock for Stock, your car is a spectator and thats why you selected to modify it because you felt smaller than others.I'd say parked, your S4 might win,now go troll..... troll

mark: understand nothing personal,im sure your car is fast. But when you come on to our board with a title " My S4 will smoke your M3",there is a mechanism in our brain that seems to click and turn you off.Good luck with your car

there will be a 415 hp supercharger kit and a variety of V8 conversions with up to 500 hp coming to an M3 near you...be afraid.

Why don't you glam boyz admit that the reason you buy your pretty little M3's is for show. We won't even discuss modifying cars here because none of you have any idea how to do it. There is definitely something to be said about people who have the guts to put time and money into an already great car and make it even greater. But you guys wouldn't know anything about that. Now go order a latte bro...

its your guy/s4 who posted the my car is faster than yours and less inexpensive(i wouldn't brag about that).who cares,we don't care,if i wanted speed i would have gotten a 911.i wanted style ,a cab, and a show stopper,so i ordered M3.Stop flaming a great car.

By the way i take my latte without foam and with skim milk

The original post slammed the s4.. I never sayd the S4 is inexpensive, just not way overpriced like your cars.. but if you like getting hosed by bmw.. thats your deal

we don't feel hosed,we simply selected M3 over other cars.I never slammed S4.i must ask,if M3 is so overpriced and slow, why are you on our board defending yourself. You don't need to since your car is chipped, right? whats the problem, what do you feel you have to prove to us?

stock a more expensive performance car should kill a cheaper performance car (not always but lets keep it simple). To be fair the difference between the two cars should be spent on bringing the cheaper car up to the same overall level (interior, exterior, engine, etc.). Then the two cars can be compaired.

We can post whatever we want about the M3 OVER HERE. It's an M3 board. You pout like a little kid. Unless someone insulted your coveted S4 on the S4 board, grow up and shrug it off. I'm done with you.

Mark G

And where did you see that?

The fact is that a 3.2L M3 engine with low boost SC giving 415 hp will likely be more durable than an Audi with a 2.7 L engine, twin turbos, major boost to give 385 hp. Those blow up too, ya know. And anyway, the V8 option would be much more durable and would leave you like you were standing still. And don't give me the "it costs too much" nonsense...if you can't afford to play the game, then don't play.

And you don't have a warranty. And you still have a boring body style. And you have a second-rate handling and suspension. And you have wasted power going to the Quattro. And finally, you have an Audi, which ranks way below BMW in quality and customer satisfaction. But in the end, like I care?

except for California. I have no idea why.

line to get thew sub-par Audis vs the BMWs laying around waiting to be purhcased. Audi outsold BMW by 30% in 2000 overall - pretty good for a niche product I think.

Oh and the pecking order is MB/Audi 1st, all others second...

that the M3s had in pre-release form. Go ask BMW-Hans what happens when you overbuild an engine for production use. Seen many a E46 M puke fluids all over South Carlolina testing circuits last year.

I still like both brands but do not think the new M is up to the modification tasks - think it is about maxed as is. Guess that is why they're doing the v8s in competition now(seen a few blow on TV as well for that matter).

Maybe I'm missing something here but what does a part that is not on the car have to do with the ability of the engine to be modified? No offense, because I do appreciate the info, but you're really reaching if you have to refer to the scrapped Al block as a reason why the engine (with an iron block) can't be modified. Also, that's what R&D is all about, finding what works and what doesn't. I do think the engine will take a supercharger with low boost without too much problem. I guess we'll see once the kits become available.
