Should it be deleted?
does it look better without it in your opinion?

I've never seen it up close with or without the spoiler thats why i'm asking.

I see it as a trade off.

On the plus side, most M3's have the spoiler, it might improve resale, and supposedly it adds a bit of downforce and/or reduces drag (debate on that topic).

On the minus side, it traps water and wax when you're washing the car, I think it looks better plain, and I like to be different/stealthy.

You could compromise by ordering it, and then removing and storing it? Not sure if the dental floss trick works on rear spoilers like it does with badges.

after the Frankfurt? show, when m3 was first introduced, critics commented that the car appeared lopsided, given the side gills and hood dome at the front. That some trim was needed on the back of the car (in addition to the trim effect of the wider rear tires and 4 pipes). So, voila, the designers added the spoiler.

I have it on mine, for the same reason I have the m3 logo mats. It's a signature. However, I don't think it is necessary, cosmetically.

If I were going to spoil this car, I'd put this on:

someone (MAShaw for sure will do one custom) will adapt it for the e46 M3 before long.

SAF, I've seen your pictures before, and with all respects to the other M owners on the board, that is the most awesome looking car. The black makes it look so aggressive. Plus a buddy of mine and I drooled on my monitor when we saw the interior with the new trim. NICE JOB!!!
