I have spent the last 2 hours searching the archive and have come up empty. I cannot find the stock amplifier in my 2001 M3 convertible. I have looked in the trunk to the left and there isn't any thing there, the battery is on the right and it doesn;t look like it's there. Hasen't anyone here upgraded there stock M3 stereo yet? I don't want to let a chop shop "car stereo store" tear apart my new baby.

Is this the amp with the purple plugs coming out of it? I took one off and it seemed to be some sort of mini coax connector. Maybe there's hope! How do I interface with this thing to add a subwoofer to my system?
