This is not meant as a troll, but a serious questions about the dependability of the Boxster, and if perhaps someone should get a 2.7L or Boxster S,

...or for the same $$$ the best buy period is the 95-98 911, which I am told is built much better.

I am a BMW guy and haven't had a Porsche for many years. A customer who is well read and hangs with a crowd that autocrosses cars said no go to the Boxster...but frankly I am thinking of a weekend car.

All of the car mags that have long term boxsters are showing very good results. I forget which one of them, but one of them has less than $2k into the car in service in 4 years.

I've heard from dealers that the boxster is right up there w/ a 911 in terms of reliability and quality. Of course the car isn't that old yet so the verdict is still out.
