I am looking to buy an '85 911 carrera coupe. I was wondering first off if anyone has any tips on what to look for, genreal trouble spots.

secondly, the car has 90,000 miles and a leaky sunroof, the dash is leather is fraying by the windsheild, as well as minor electrical problems (seat and stereo), there is a bit of rust bubbling on the corner of the hood. how much would i be looking to spend to fix these things? rust aside, are these things easy to work out?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thank you

I just bought a '90 911 C4 and had a pre-purchase inspection done at a Porsche mechanic. It cost about $150 but he wen over the car thoroughly and found about 3k worth of repairs to be done. Though you can see the cosmetic repairs to be done the mechanic can tell you how sound the engine and other equipment is and the cost of all the repairs. I suggest both going to or and asking someone to recommend a Porsche mechanic in your area. Good luck and enjoy the extreme driving machine!

Are there any pedal kits that allow you to heel & toe a 964(5 spd.)?
I've seen some for 993's but do they fit mine, and are the pedals at all adjustable? The racing 911's seem to have better pedal placement-can they be retrofitted?Any help would be gratefully acknowledged-thanks
