I am looking at buying a renegade hybred chevy v8 914. What are some of the things I should look out for and what are the downfalls of these cars?
Thanks in advance for the help.

They slice through transmissions and clutches like butter!

The cooling system can be bothersome on some of these conversions. If it has the radiator/fan setup from Renegade then that'll solve the problems.

As GuiTTars mentioned, the V8's can be hard on the 901 trannys.
If you plan on beating the snot out of the car, invest in a few spare 901s and save your money to do a 930 gear box swap, the 930 box is good for 700hp, but it'll cost you about 5K for the box and to have the R/P flipped plus linkage.

These cars are a blast to drive and the handling does not suffer like the purists belive they do.
