I'm considering a 1983 911SC as my first Porsche. It has approximately 105,000 miles but is otherwise mint condition. Is there anything I should know as to problems with 1983's? Also, they are asking $11,500?

Any thoughts? Thanks

The price is right...You need to verify how complete the service records are: for instances from purchase (with window sticker) to present. The reason: 1)have chain tensionsers be upgraded? 2)Has clutch assembly be replaced?) 3) Has air-box Pop-off valve been installed...ETC>ETC>...Hopefully you see where I'm coming from. Run a carfax report (this will confirm mileage) & ofcourse having complete service records will also verify odometer as well as rebuilds-updates & in some cases, accidents.
I hope this helps?

Have the car checked at a specialist any way.
I can send you a good 911 check list if you wish.
