Hi everyone,

Got a dumb question but guess I'd ask anyway so it doesn't happen again. Just got a high pressure washer yesterday and maybe I was overzealous in using it. I'd sprayed the kidney grill briefly to get the chrome trim etc but when I started the car after the wash there was this nasty gasoline/oily smell.

This morning my car wouldn't start at first but finally did after a little struggle with some shuddering.

Does this mean that water got in the engine in the front somehow or perhaps from the rear via tailpipes?

How would you prevent this from happening again? (cover/avoid while washing)?

You're braver than me.
