Performance silly...I mean, you're going to save around 200lbs stripping your interior, which will give noticeable performance gains. Besides, two-tone leather rapped recaro seats aren't bad either. I will couple this with some other weight saving measures as well. Just look at what the M3CSL did with some weight saving measures, 30 seconds faster on the Nuburgring.

Adding 10% more power would have exactly the same effect (in a straight line) as reducing weight by a proportional amount. It wouldn't improve the handling (as weight loss would).

The CSL lost about 13% weight and gained about 8% power.

The original poster suggested that the CSL's weight loss gave it another 30secs around the Nurburgring. I pointed out that it was not only the weight loss that contributed to the 30secs.
