competent? I mean, the limits of any Porsche (including the Boxster) are so high, that I would think it would be frustrating to drive on American roads with one. I have a BMW 325i-- and though my car has much less power and handling ability than your Porsches, I still can't really reach the limits of the car on public roads. I guess you can still enjoy great styling, and a great engine sound though. WHat are you thoughts on this?

Sometimes I toy with buying a 356 instead. The fun point happens below the speed at which I'd end up in jail :) On the other hand the 986 is so competent I can comfortably use it as my daily driver.
